Rowan arrives at Shifters United HQ to help work on drafting more inclusive bylaws for queer shifters. Recent incidents among some of the more old-fashioned packs has brought the issue to the surface, and along with it, memories of Rowan's first love, Tavi Dryer, a transmasculine wolf who'd fled from his oppressive pack as a teen. Though Rowan has worked to create safe houses among the member packs of Shifters United, he had never been able to find out what happened to Tavi.
After leaving his pack, Tavi ended up in New Mexico, where he founded a safe home for queer shifters needing a soft place to land. His work kept him busy, and wishing he could reconnect with Rowan, to explain why he'd had to leave and that it had nothing to do with him. When Carmen called him with his experiences and expertise to Shifters United HQ, he hopes to find out Rowan's whereabouts, only to discover that his past love is there for the same meeting.
Tavi and Rowan rediscover their feelings for one another, but they work across the country from one another. And when when a young shifter runs away from Tavi's refuge, he might have to leave early, ending the reunion before it's even gotten a chance to start. But he's a wolf on a mission, make Shifters United a more inclusive place and help his young charge, all while claiming the man he knows is his mate.
Author's note: This story contains sexy gay love between a cis man and a transgender man in transition. Each book in the Shifter's United series can be read on its own, but characters from other books do make an appearance.
